The purpose of this site is to offer the citizens of Libertyville Township a guide to Township government and events. We are located to the east of Route 45 and north of Route 60. The Township comprises 36 square miles and includes part of the cities of Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, North Chicago and Waukegan, and all or part of the villages of Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mettawa, Mundelein, and Vernon Hills.

In each Township, the Township board consists of the supervisor and four trustees elected at large from the Township. The town supervisor serves as chairman of the board, and the Township clerk is the clerk of the Township board. The elected officials in Township government consist of a supervisor, four trustees, a Township clerk, the assessor, and the highway commissioner.

Township government is responsible for providing an office and facilities for the Assessor, as well as maintaining roads and bridges under the authority of the Township Highway Commissioner. Another duty of Township government is to provide for the needy in the community through the Supervisor's office. The Clerk's Office maintains records and administers voting procedures.
