The Township Clerk is the clerk for the Township board, which consists of a Supervisor, an Assessor, a Highway Commissioner and four Trustees. All of these board members, as well as the Clerk, are elected officials.  Township Clerks do not  have a vote on the board.  The Township Clerk has many duties; keeper of township records, clerk of all town meetings, (at which minutes are meticulously  recorded, agreed upon, and documented), authenticator of documents, administer of oaths, issuer of certificates and resignations, and is also a local election official.  Since the town record of the board meetings is the only competent evidence of the acts of the voters, these documents are of utmost importance.  Another important role of the Clerk is to give notice of meetings, and their agenda, through the local newspaper as well as public places within the township. With proper notice, members of the public interested in the agenda at hand can plan on attending.

As Township Clerk, I am committed to act in an ethical, responsible and hardworking manner, so to serve the people of this wonderful township.  I look forward to the challenges ahead of me, and will stay true to the oath I have taken, which is to faithfully discharge the duties of my office to the best of my ability.  Thank you for allowing me this privilege.

                                                       Sincerely, Anne Hansen
